Biography

Dr. Jonas Chartock is a New Orleans-based SAG-AFTRA screen and stage actor with a growing body of work in film, television, and live theater. Based in one of the most vibrant production hubs in the American South, Jonas brings a grounded, character-driven approach to every role — whether in front of a camera on a Louisiana film set or performing live on stage.

On screen, Jonas has appeared in a range of film and television productions shot in and around New Orleans. His television credits include appearances on the Peacock series Killing It and the FX/Hulu series The Premise. His feature film work includes Last Hand, currently in post-production and expected for release in 2026. He is a recurring presence in the independent film community in Louisiana, with supporting and lead roles across more than a dozen short and feature productions since 2019.

Jonas also holds a doctorate and, in addition to his non-profit management roles, consults organizations on how position, privilege, and power affect organizational success, education, and the acceleration and improvement of racial equity in organizations. Jonas also enjoys exercising his talents as an amateur musician, primarily focusing on voice and guitar, and, more than anything, spending time with his son.

News

Jonas recently wrapped a few projects including his role as Edvin on the film "Last Hand" in New Orleans (expected to be released in 2026) and Mark in the film "End of the Line." He will reprise his role of Holocaust survivor Ed Lefkowitz in "Only Miracles" on stage at the National World War II Museum in April of 2026.
